"Died of Wounds" 2nd October 1915, Hooge, Belgium.

The 8th Battation the Rifle Brigade moved into trenches opposite Bellewaerde Farm on the 25th September 1915 to relieved the Durham Light Infantry who had been involved in a heavy subsidiary attack to Loos during the night. The aftermath of the attack is described in the War Diary from the 25th September.

The trench map below shows the British (Black) and German (Red) trench positions on the 25th September 1915. This is the scene which Reginald would have seen when he entered the trenches on the 28th September 1915. The detailed map has been overlayed on a 1917 trench map. The camera icons show the view points of the panoramic photos taken on the 27 July 2014 showing the battlefield where Reginald was killed. The cross shows the location of Reginalds grave next to Railway Wood before he was moved to Poelkapelle British Cemetery
